    A house that can explain itself

    Everything worth knowing about a house is scattered across public records, plans, photos and paperwork, and almost none of it can answer a question.

    A screen that AI agents can draw on

    AI conversations are stuck in text. An agent that could compose charts, dashboards and diagrams on any nearby screen would show far more than it can say.

    Principal engineer on a multi-year platform transformation.

    Coles Group — Technical Lead (Contract)

    Integrated, operated and expanded retail media on Coles' new website. Technical analysis and product roadmap advice, including tender evaluation.

  3. 2021 – 2022 · Melbourne

    Latitude Financial Services — Senior Systems Engineer (Contract)

    Launched interest-free payment plans on credit card purchases to compete with buy now, pay later.

    • Delivered Go and AWS microservices ahead of schedule.
    • Proposed the adopted UX approach, cutting three months of scope.

    Atlassian — Full-Stack Software Engineer (Contract)

    Growth and experimentation: Spring WebFlux endpoints, Slack integrations (Node/TypeScript) and Confluence onboarding (React).

    IAG · ShareCover — Solutions Architect and Technical Lead (Contract)

    Took ShareCover from proof of concept to enterprise-grade software. Responsible for technical strategy, architecture, software, DevOps, partner integration and technical sales.

    FlightSpeed — Product Lead and Senior Software Engineer (Contract)

    Led development of a CRM product and a travel start-up initiative, including offshore team management.

  7. Sep 2017 – Mar 2018 · Sydney

    amaysim — Senior Software Engineer (Contract)

    One of two developers building a new vertical on serverless: third-party integrations, sales funnels, user management and data warehousing.

  8. 2017 · Sydney

    Terem Technologies / Qantas Loyalty — Senior Software Engineer (Contract)

    Feature work, tech-debt reduction and a greenfield React and Contentful build for Qantas Loyalty.

  9. 2016 – 2017 · Dallas, TX (remote)

    Multibrain — Senior Software Engineer

    Built and modernised a social advertising platform for a US SaaS business; introduced Scrum and doubled test coverage through TDD-led refactoring.

  10. 2014 – 2015 · Sydney

    Kegstar — Solutions Architect and Lead Developer (Contract)

    Solo developer on a global asset tracking, customer management and billing platform for a keg rental start-up, and managed an agency building its native iOS and Android apps. Valuation grew from $20m to $50m during my time.

    Holler Sydney — Senior Software Engineer

    High-traffic agency and campaign platforms, including scaling an application to 500k requests a day and multilingual campaign tooling for Tourism Australia.

  12. 2004 – 2011 · Sydney

    SpinTel — Software Engineer → Lead Engineer → Head of Development

    First role, growing with the business into new verticals. Architected systems across a telco (customer management, ordering, industry and regulator integrations, invoicing, workflow automation) and ran the infrastructure underneath, from data-centre servers to email and web hosting.
